This is because Chinese investors who are also US citizens, such as David Liu who is one of the largest buyers of rental apartment buildings in the US, are still not accounted for in official figures.

Currently market analysis companies, such as Real Capital Analytics, only count Chinese investors who are based in China, whilst other sources of Chinese investment clearly exist.

Real Capital Analytics will does not count David Lius transactions because his company, Standard Portfolios, is located in the US.

With Chinas economy generating billions of dollars of surplus cash each year, the number of Chinese investors looking for opportunities in the US are rising.

Additionally, Chinas Sovereign Wealth Fund and companies such as the China Investment Corporation have been looking to buy stakes in US focused real estate funds.

However, if these investments are made they will not be recorded by Real Capital Analytics as Chinese investment because the companies will not own the property directly.

There are many Chinese investors who currently operate ‘under the radar’, buying up thousands of distressed properties that have come onto the market due to the economic downturn.

Until real statistical analysis of these ‘underground’ property investments is made, the true figures will remain unknown.

Martial arts are systems of offensive and defensive combat movements which includes proper punching, kicking, blocking, and other combative skills. Many people often associate martial arts to violence and brutality. Even though this form of art was developed for self defense, this craft is just about throwing punches or performing high kicks. Martial arts are seen as expressions of valor, chivalry, and self-sacrifice. It is a philosophy which stresses that people should live in peace and harmony. Martial arts philosophy emphasizes on the essence of self-control, respect for others, and positive perspective to strive for the best in life. Martial arts are part of an Eastern tradition that gives emphasis on the fortification of the mind, body, and spirit. Its teachings emphasize that a true martial artist must become physically, mentally, and emotionally strong enough to avoid fighting. The many forms of martial arts include Karate, Kung-Fu, Muay Thai, Tae Kwon Do, Judo, Yaw-Yan, and Jiu Jitsu.

Martial arts include high-energy training that can improve strength, speed, flexibility, and cardiovascular health. However, just like other sports or physical activities, there are injuries that can be encountered in martial arts training or competition. Quite surprisingly, the risk of injury from martial arts is lower compared to other contact sports. A research conducted at George Washington University in the United States concluded that the injury rate in martial arts training is lower than other contact sports like rugby, American football, basketball, and hockey. Most injuries associated with martial arts are aching limbs and lower back pain, which are usually mild to moderate injuries.

Common injuries in martial arts may include:

Skin damage — such as cuts and bruises.

Sprains — Many sprains occur in the ankles, elbows, and other joint areas. Many ankle sprains develop because of improper weight distribution while kicking.

Strains — injury to the muscle or tendon. Some muscles may tear from rapid stops that occurs when forceful contact is made with an opponent or object.

Knee pain injuries — caused by the bent-knee stance typical of most martial arts and the use of forceful kicks that can injure the joint if not done properly.

Head injuries – head injuries can occur during training or competition because of heavy impacts of kicks and punches in the head area. Wearing high quality helmet and mouth guards is advised among martial artists

Dislocations and fractures — particularly of the hand, finger, foot and toe.

Overuse injuries — any part of the body can be injured by sheer repetition of movement.

Martial arts training involve strenuous movements that may put high stress on muscles and joints. To avoid injuries, it is very important to give special attention to stretching. Stretching regularly helps maintain or increase flexibility and lower the risk of injuries. In addition to stretching, martial arts training should also include exercises meant to improve overall conditioning and muscle training before undertaking any comprehensive martial arts training. By strengthening the muscles, joints, and coordination, athletes will be able to make martial arts training safer and more injury-free. Breathing techniques are also important as part of the practice of martial arts. Exhaling while contracting muscles and inhaling while resting the muscles may help prevent injuries.

By warming-up properly, breathing extensively, and wearing necessary equipment, martial artists and athletes can avoid injuries that may hamper the progress of their training and level of competitiveness.

Stress is one of the top most dangerous health problems in a modern society. It can be triggered by many things… from an argument with a friend, to having a quarrel with your spouse, to disputing with clients, and even moving to a new location with new environment can trigger stress.

In the workplace, project deadlines, pressure from our bosses, and relationships with the people we work with can cause stress, too. Even something as ordinary as dealing with heavy traffic on our way to work or waiting in a long line at the check out counter in the supermarket can cause stress.

It seems like no one can really escape from stress these days. It will creep up to you soon or later. Therefore, it is important to learn how to deal with stress when it arises. Stress management is a very important skill if you want to live a happy life these days.

In this article, you are going to learn some techniques to alleviate stress. You can’t eliminate stress completely but you can manage and control its intensity so that it doesn’t get harmful.

Stress can come from many sources and it is almost impossible to identify all of them. But, you should take note whenever stress creeps up to you. Try to understand the source of the stress so that you can learn how to deal with it and prevent it to happen again in the future.

Next, list down all the things that are troubling you at the moment. List ALL of them regardless of how important or unimportant they may be. Once done, group them into two. The first group (group 1) should comprise all the things that you can do something about, and the second (group 2) should comprise those that you cannot change or have no control over.

Review the list thoroughly and then throw away those things that are listed in group 2 because they are not worth worrying about. You simply can’t change the things that you have no control over. So, please don’t waste your time and energy trying to manage those things that you have no control of.

For example, if you get stuck in a traffic jam, instead of getting angry and get all stressed out… why not turn on a music and enjoy it. There is nothing you can do about it, you have no control over a traffic jam. So it is not worth it to get all stressed out because of that. If you have an appointment and you are stuck in traffic, then pick up your cell phone and call them up and tell them that you are going to be late. Simple as that!

Focus your energy on dealing with things that you can change. Look at your group 1 list again and go through them one by one. Write down how you can deal with each. Things that you can change are things that you have control over. So, make the changes and get better.

For example, if a messy work desk gives you stress, then tidy it up. Throw away all those papers that you don’t need and file away the documents in the folders, label each folder so that it is easy for you to find what you want next time. Just do it and don’t get stressed out from something that you can change.

The stress management techniques I have just shared with you are very effective and very easy to implement. So, make sure you put them into good use.

So, learn to communicate effectively with your coworkers to reduce misunderstanding. If coworkers are causing you stress, ask yourself, “Why?” There is a good chance that the two of you aren’t really communicating. Put yourself in their shoes to better understand their point of view. Listen to their needs and see if they can be met. If you can satisfy their requirements, a source of conflict is removed and so is the stress associated with it.

2. Positive thinking. Able to think positively is a very powerful thing. It is easy to think negatively and starte poiting fingers to others when thing doesn’t go your way. If the going get tough in a work environment, try to keep your cool and maintain a positive thinking. This will allow you to solve the problem at hand and reduce the stress associated with the problem.

Don’t lose yourself in your job because this can have a detrimental effect on your health and you can suffer from chronic stress. So, if you feel as if your job has become your whole life, take a step back and look at things in a more positive perspective. Remember that good health is more important than your work. Take care of your body by exercising regularly, eating nutritious foods, and getting enough sleep. While that sounds so simple, how often do we rush around on 4 hours of sleep, a coffee, and a donut all day long?

4. Do not try to be a perfectionist. This can cause BIG stress in your life. Accept that you and others are just human beings, we all do make mistakes. Don’t dwell on them, learn from the mistakes and move on.

6. Get organized. Organization can be a key factor for job stress relief. If your workplace is disorganized, it can also cause disorganization in your mind. Your thoughts may become scattered and you will be less likely to think on your feet effectively, causing even more stress.

Do anxiety disorders always seem to impact you? Temporary use of anti-anxiety meds, as well as an anxiety support group, may be the answer.

You might not find what you really need if you only go to your doctor to seek help in relieving your habitual panic attacks. The medical professional could be quick to recommend an anti-anxiety medicine, or even an anti-depressant. And while you might be able to acquire short term alleviation as a result of these drugs, by itself it is not enough to treat your anxiety disorders. These drugs simply take care of the Symptoms Of An Anxiety Attack but they don’t treat the root cause of the condition.

For this reason, a savvy physician may prescribe an anti-anxiety treatment, with a recommendation to seek the services of an anxiety support group. People that have a Severe Anxiety Disorder are always distant and stressed-out, which makes it so difficult for them to have personal interactions with other people that also suffer with the same problem. It’s important to know, before ruling out anti-anxiety support groups as an option, that there is groups that meet in person and there are also groups that meet on the web. Therefore, there is no reason for you not to consider this kind of treatment. Regardless of what degree of anxiety you have or personal dilemmas you have, anxiety support groups are a great way to help you treat your anxiety disorders.

Face-to-face anxiety support groups delivers the prospect for people experiencing the same attacks to cooperate and make an effort to resolve their anxiety disorders as well as all its health and social impacts. The anxiety support groups in general use the services of a moderator, one who is a psychologist or those who’re social service specialists. The purpose of the mediator is to get the ball rolling between the members.

You’ll soon figure out that people in the anxiety support groups will begin discussing the instances and experiences which triggers their anxiety disorders. People will begin to open up after developing a sense of trust, and this normally happens after they start to feel comfortable with the other members in the group. Youll also soon realize that youre in the same boat with the other members.

Let us suppose that there is three other persons that have problems with anxiety attacks exactly like what youre being affected by. The moderator will then attempt to isolate that fact, and then will ask how the people affected by it handles these things and the ensuing anxiety disorder. You could get four different solutions, or 4 quite similar responses. After all, what works for one might not work for you. Even though, you may also learn different solutions from other people. As an example, a man may disclose that he walks an hour every evening to take the edge off his anxiety, and you may start to consider that you can also do the exact same thing.

Online, anxiety support groups are equally effective Since it lacks the face-to-face interaction, mediators in these online forums customarily make use of strategies designed to make the participants comfortable and have faith in one another.

Should you want an alternative to anxiety support groups, you need to take a look at The Linden Method Review. This is a good self help program that has helped 1000′s of individuals defeat Severe Anxiety Disorders

By Ellen Huston

Can global warming affect the way we feel? Evidence around the globe is showing that the amount of heat stress experienced by humans and animals across the Mediterranean region is increasing. The increase in the number of these incidences seem to coincide with the elevated levels of greenhouse gasses happening in the region.

Heat stress occurs whenever the internal temperature of the body achieves a high enough level that it results in stress on the internal organs of the body. Modest instances of heat stress are not serious and can lead to dehydration. Major cases, however, can possibly result in heat stroke, which can kill or cause severe trauma.

Heat stress occurs from a confluence of three separate things – air temperature, humidity, and body movement. Air temperature is mostly self explanatory, as the air temperature rises our body naturally gets warmer also. In humans, excess heat escapes through the skin. But high humidity makes evaporation of moisture from the skin more difficult, in effect making it harder for the body to get rid of heat.

Body movement also generates heat. Intense movement, such as exercise, can generate a lot of heat. Slow movements, such as walking, generates a small amount of heat. An increase in any of these factors in isolation can heat up the body. An increase in all three factors together, creates prime conditions for heat stress.

In recent years, climate scientists and researchers have been extremely focused on creating and refining computerized environmental models in order to both predict as well as show the effects of climate change on various regions of the world. Naturally, heat stress and how plants, animals, and people react under high levels of heat are topics of intense interest. Using these models, researchers can create micro-climate conditions that match the real world and then apply various environmental effects to them to project what kinds of problems that they might trigger.

But, in an indirect way, heat stress impacts us and animals in other ways as well. In fact, one of the primary aims of the Mediterranean study was to look at the effects of heat stress on the milk production of sheep. The locals made use of data from a local weather station to model the experiment. And the conclusion of the study was that average milk yield, as well as the average protein yield, went down dramatically as the heat stress index increased. Additional studies are going on now to determine crop yields are affected by how heat.

Heat stress is impacting environments the world over. In recent years, it’s estimated that the increase in greenhouse gasses in the Mediterranean has increased fivefold the incidences of heat stress by residents. If computer models are correct, and many scientists believe that they are, the problems that we’re experiencing with heat stress are only the beginning.
